Educational Programme 

SLWA artists also run an extensive educational programme alongside our exhibitions and residencies. We are delighted that Doreen Thompson Addo from the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust has agreed to talk to students from local primary schools - Harris Girls Academy and Eltham College. The workshops for this project will centre round the work SLCT does to enable young people from all backgrounds to realise their potential.


SLWA Artist talk with Elinor Brass, Director of the Gerald Moore Gallery

We would like to thank Elinor Brass, Head of Art at Eltham College and Director of the Gerald Moore Gallery for making TEN possible. If you would like to learn more about the work Elinor Brass does as an educator throughout the country and globally, she will be giving a talk open to all SLWA members at the gallery on 25 November 7-9pm. TEN : A showcase of 10 South London Women Artists, is part of the Eltham Arts Festival

A display of costume and poster designs from the Eltham Little Theatre Archives. First time many have been exhibited. There will also be a display of artwork by St Thomas More Secondary School students .

Art works by local artists Rik Ward, Pragya Kumar. Lana Quigley and Geoff Carlyle. There is also a permanent display of film posters in the cafe.

An art gallery in the grounds of Eltham College and a resource for the school with public entry on some days. On Saturdays 7 Nov to 19 Dec during the festival there is an exhibition by South London Women Artists group. Free. They also have art workshops

A music shop which has been in Eltham for over 100 years . Amongst its display of guitars it hosts a fantastic  leatherwork guitar strap by artist Zahira al Zahira

SE9 Container Gallery, St Thomas More R C School, Eltham SE9 2SU. Open: Sats 11 - 3pm

An unusual  gallery in the grounds on St Thomas More Secondary School. From 7 Nov during the festival it has an exhibition 'The Organic World, Mosaic Wall Panels'  by Aliyahgator. Free entry. They also have a mosaics workshop during the Festival

A High St shoe repairers hosts a small  display of ceramics and glass by local artists Jean Bright and Himani Weir

On open house by local ceramicist Sylvia Stevens. Displaying her own work and also paintings by George Fanshawe. Free entry

An exhibition in the upper floor on the Tudor Barn organised by Hotchpotch. A display of work by artists with different media. Free entry

A popular High St pub which has local photos and prints hosted by local artists Lana Quigley and Geoff Carlyle together with their permanent collection .

The walls of this cafe has a permanent display of artwork 



Directions to the GERALD MOORE GALLERY
The Gerald Moore Gallery is a modern building in the grounds of Eltham College. There is a carpark in front of the school. To find the gallery turn to the right in front of the school and through a courtyard.




By car
From the A205 South Circular Once on the South Circular follow signs towards Woolwich and the A20. Leave the South Circular, at Eltham via the roundabout, and join the A20, Sidcup Road (signposted Sidcup, Swanley). After approximately 1 mile turn right onto the A208, Court Road and at the T junction turn right onto the B226 Grove Park Road. Travel straight across two roundabouts and the entrance to Eltham College will be seen immediately on the right-hand side. On Arrival: Car Parking is limited adjacent to the Main Entrance, but more space is available by the Eric Liddell Sports Centre entrance from Mottingham Lane.

By Train 
Via Mottingham Station

10 minute walk

On the line from Dartford via Sidcup and from Charing Cross/Cannon Street via Lewisham. Trains run every 30 minutes off-peak.

Via Grove Park Station

20 minute walk

On the line from Charing Cross to Sevenoaks via Chislehurst, Orpington and Chelsfield.
